Internet Explorer Discovery

Hi

How can i get the hostname of the computer which has any version o Internet Explorer 11/10/9/8 etc.

I know that there is a report for IE Discovery Report but that report only shows the count of IE per OS.

Other method was using [UT_WinServer_Reporting].[InstalledProductsView]. (https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/mapblog/2013/01/28/how-to-get-a-computer-by-computer-view-of-installed-software-using-the-map-toolkit/) but it does not show who has IE installed and which version.

Thank you in advance for the help.

MAPT Linux/Solaris Compatibility

Hello

Can anyone tell me which non-Windows operating systems they have successfully been able to obtain performance information for (memory, cpu, disk, iops etc) using the MAP Toolkit (9.x) ?  We have run some scans against Red Hat Linux (different versions) and Sun Solaris and we are seeing some information for some servers but not all.

We don't know if it's a permissions thing so was hoping someone could say what they've been able to scan successfully or if there is a compatibility list somewhere for non-Windows O/S ?

Thanks

MAP Tool automation

Hi,

We provide automation services to our clients for on-premise and cloud environments. Now, we are looking for automating the migration stuff i.e MAP Tool automation for assessments.

We have automated the MAP tool installation. Now, we need to automate the MAP tool configuration post installation. I have found any switches with .exe or libraries to automate the configuration to get the inventory.

Can anybody help me on how to automate the MAP tool configuration using APIs/commands etc.

Thanks in advance

Bhaskar.

MAP 9.5 - SQL Server Database Details Report missing data in SQL Server Database Summary Sheet

Using 9.5 version.

The database summary sheet does not have data only showing:

column1       column2

data A1         data B1

data A2         dataB2

I looked at the log and it has this entry showing an error which I think is the issue, but don't know how to fix it:

<2017-01-23 15:39:57.50 Generate reports@DocumentGenerator,I>  GenerateDocument: SqlServerDatabaseDetails-01-23-2017-15h39m57s

I uninstall MAP along with the locaDB and reinstalled and still have the same error.

thanks,

MAP toolkit 9.5 not finding all SQL Server instances

$

Hi,

Here's my issue.

Remote server
•Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition (64-bit)
•Windows 2008R2 Enterprise

MAP / Local Server
•Microsoft SQL Server  Server 2014 Express Edition  (x64)
•Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter

Remote server has 5 SQL Server Instances running on it:
•INST1 - Disabled
•INST2 - Enabled
•DEV1 - Enabled
•DEV2 - Enabled
•DEV2008_1 – Enabled

When I run the MAP toolkit 9.5.8.0 from the MAP server, the SQL inventory reports lists only 2 instances (INST1 and INST2) on the server. Why is the report missing some instances?

MAP optons

Senario
•SQL Server
•SQL Server with Database Details

Discovery Methods
•Use Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)

Other notes:
•SQL Browser is running on remote computer
•Account use to connect to remote computer has local admin on the remote server.

Hopefully someone can help me otherwise I can’t use the MAP toolkit with confidence.

Thanks

Manish

MAPS 9.5 installation is failing

HelloI have a problem to install the MAP toolkit on Windows Server 2012 (fresh installation) with SQL Server MAPS instance installed and collation configured to SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS. I am a bit confused because I don't know what is wrong. I was trying to install it on the old machine and I thought it's damaged so I decided to reinstall it. But as I see it didn't solve the issue.

Assessment failing after inventory

$

Hello everybody!

I'm using MapToolkit Build 9.2.292.00 to collect inventory data from our servers and, after a successful inventory has completed, the Assessment doesn't work!

As a way to isolate the issue, I performed the inventory only in the VMWare infrastructure and, after that, it's clear: The problem with assessment task are the VMWare data.

I saw some threads about this error, but any helped me to solve my problem. I checked the data from "WMWare_Inventory" and "WMWare_Assessment" schemas and I'd not able to see anything wrong with them.

Could you help me, please? Take a look at the log bellow.

Thanks!

Moises

Will MAP Scale?

Hi,

I need to analyse a server estate with c6000 server workloads. c40% of the estate is virtualised on vSphere, the rest is made up of physical servers ranging from Windows Server 2003, RHEL, HP-UX, Aix etc. My question is will MAP scale for an estate of this size? Has anyone out there used the tool for such a large estate, if so any lessons learned, tips etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

A failure occurred while validating the MAP Toolkit configuration database?

I'm trying to share a Windows 7 workstation which has the MAP toolkit v8 installed with another user.

I've successfully installed and used the MAP toolkit as "DOMAIN\userA".

However, when user "DOMAIN\userB" logs onto the workstation and launches the tool, elevated, they get this error:

I'm not expecting "userB" to have access to the localDB databases created by "userA", since they will make their own databases to use.

im wondering if the following can be done with MAP or any other tool: customer knows there are lots of LOB .net apps around and want to inventory those. besides these apps they also wanna inventory the regular apps (which off course can be done with MAP).

any ideas how to proceed with the .net inventory?

MAP Scheduled Task

Is it possible to create a scheduled task for Microsoft Assessment & Planning toolkit to carry out a regular inventory of clients (Windows Computers/Active Directory discovery).  We have a highly mobile workforce and need to run regular captures to grab the inventory data.

Thanks

Simon

MAP 9.8 - Device Details > Virtualization Host > Insufficient Data

Ran MAP and on the Device Details tab > column WMI STATUS shows SUCCESS but under the Virtualization Host Column it shows Insufficient Data - why would that come back as Insufficient if it scanned successfully?

I created a 30 day pivot so the WMI Collection Date and Last Activity Data are in scope.

inventario de VMware con MAP

Hola.

3. Es posible recibir capacitación de MAP?

Gracias
