Many times, a customer will run MAP only to discover that Desktops are missing from the inventory scan - they're either turned off or laptops that aren't yet attached. We suggest that MAP be run on Tues -Thurs, and after 10 am in order to avoid devices that yet to be on the network.
Unfortunately, there still will be some desktop devices missing. What is the best way for MAP to re-scan for new devices without starting the whole process from scratch? I'm under the impression that 'refresh inventory' attempts to re scan devices that failed the WMI inventory.... but doesn't necessarily 'rescan' for those delinquent devices.
