We currently have a test domain which has a single ESXi host (192.168.1.6) managed by vCenter on a Windows 2008 R2 server (192.168.1.4)and several other machines which have SQL on them (2008/2012) when when running the SQL reports, a crucial field is missing on "Assessment Summary for SQL Servers" report, "DatabaseInstances" tab, which is Number of Host Processors. Even though the rest of the SQL information is great, the VMRreport contains all the Host and Guest Details but appears Physical information is not pulled from only vCenter information which it should be capable of.
Do you need to explicitly run a Linux/UNIX scan against the host itself to gain this type of data?
- While performing the first step, I've selected Windows computers, VMware computers and SQL Server
- Selected "Use AD DS" for discovery
- Enter domain admin credentials
- Specify the entire forest.
- Specify the Windows domain admin for both WMI/VMware Accounts
- No priorities of credentials as there is only one
- Keep the default port 443 without Validate SSL Cert
Even running root against the host IP fails to come back, but running the vSphere client against 192.168.1.6 with root works just fine.
Any suggestions?
